Rep. Liz Cheney “understands the priorities of Northern Virginians,” according to a new website, LizCheneyforVA.com, launched today by Harriet Hageman’s campaign. At the same time, Hageman released a new paid social media ad pointing out that Cheney is obsessed with her personal war with former President Donald Trump and isn’t paying attention to what Wyoming residents really care about.

Hageman, Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wyoming, is challenging Cheney in the August Republican primary.

The spoof website notes accurately that Cheney grew up in Northern Virginia, bases her family there, and shares the priorities of the Washington, D.C. suburbs, such as “funneling money to the military industrial complex, listening to big dollar D.C. lobbyists, and fighting for special interest groups.”

Another section of the website declares that “Liz has spent her time in Congress fighting the fights Northern Virginian Democrats truly care about, like impeaching President Donald Trump and investigating the Trump Administration and its allies.”

The site features a scrolling series of actual quotes praising Cheney’s work on the January 6th Committee from leading figures like Vice President Kamala Harris, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer, various members of “The Squad,” and O.J. Simpson, among others.

Buttons on the page, purportedly for links to Cheney’s social media accounts, instead take the user to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages run by the House Democrats in Congress.

In the social media ad, Hageman relates some issues Wyomingites have told her they are concerned about, including the education of their children, unconstitutional COVID-19 mandates that threaten livelihoods, rising inflation, and illegal immigration. The ad then cuts to a series of clips of Cheney speaking incessantly about President Trump and the January 6th Committee.

“I’m very focused right now on my re-election and on the work of the select committee,” Cheney says in the video. “And I can tell you that the single-most important thing, though, is to ensure that Donald Trump is not the Republican nominee and that he certainly is not anywhere close to the Oval Office ever again.”

Hageman closes the video, saying, “Liz Cheney clearly doesn’t know what being a representative means. She’s not representing us. She’s not representing Wyoming. She’s not representing our values. Let’s send her home … to Virginia.”
